  1. Crested Gecko
I think these make really good beginner pets because they are super low-maintenance and like to be held. I do have 2 Crested geckos and they are amazing pets.

If you are looking to get a snake I would definitely recommend the Ball Python. They are amazing pets and aren't jumpy like crested geckos because they are a snake.

I used to have a Leopard Gecko and they make great pets. They aren't jumpy like the Crested Gecko and they are larger.

4. Corn Snake

I used to have a Corn Snake as well. They are a bit smaller than Ball Pythons but are still not jumpy and really easy to take care of.

I absolutely love Bearded Dragons. They are larger than other geckos and lizards but are still really easy to take care of.

Things You Will Need

  1. No Heat light (you can use just a normal light bulb as a source of light)
  2. Humid hide for sheading
  3. Normal hide (optional)
  4. 10-gallon tank for babies and 20-gallon tank for adults (I have 2 babies in a 10-gallon so there could be more than 1)
  5. Thromamater for humidity and temperature
  6. Spray bottle (must spray multiple times a day)
  7. Distilled water (they can't have tap water)
  8. Leaves and vines
  9. Real moss
  10. Food and water dish
  11. Food (I use Pangea) https://www.pangeareptile.com/store

Things You Should Know

  1. the temperature must be below 80 degrees F and above 70 degrees F
  2. Humidity should be from 80 to 95 is where I keep it
  3. You should spray the humid hide once a day or so
  4. They do like to jump when you take them out though some are more active than others
  5.  You might notice your baby crested geckos aren't eating, that's either because they are getting used to the environment or  they are eating but they are so small you may be giving to much so you won't notice that they are eating
  6. They are not active that much during the day but about an hour after you turn the lamp off (if you have one) or it gets dark in the room because they are nocturnal
  7. If you have a lamp turn it off when it gets dark outside to imitate night and day
  8. Even though they are nocturnal you can still take them out during the day and they will be fine.
  9. You can buy crested geckos alone and they will be fine but I do like to pair them because to me they seem happier together but that is just my opinion.
